Desiree Gill is an accomplished Human Resource and Payroll Professional with more than 20 years of experience leading strategic people, payroll, and compliance initiatives across diverse, multi-state organizations. As Human Resource Director for The Kuskokwim Corporation, Desiree serves as a trusted partner to the executive leadership team, overseeing human resources, benefits, compensation, and payroll operations for 18 subsidiaries across 35 states.

A proven leader in both start-up and acquisition environments, she has successfully built and led centralized HR and payroll teams, implemented streamlined systems, and ensured compliance with complex federal and state regulations.  Prior to her current role, Desiree served as Director of Payroll for Akima, LLC, where she consolidated payroll operations for more than 5,700 employees across 31 subsidiaries, improving efficiency, fiscal integrity, and audit readiness.

Desiree’s expertise spans labor relations, organizational policy, and workforce development, coupled with a strong commitment to ethical leadership, inclusion, and operational excellence. She brings to the board a deep understanding of fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, and governance—ensuring accountability and transparency in all financial and administrative matters.

In addition to her professional role, Desiree served as President of the Northern Lights Alaska Chapter (NLAC) from 2018 to 2021, where she was recognized as NLAC Payroll Professional of the Year in 2018. She is advancing the HR profession as an active member of the ASHRM Workforce Readiness Committee (2024–2025). Desiree is a Certified Payroll Professional Certificate (2011) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (2019).
