When Isabella Gasseling agreed to attend NHRMA's HRLT Conference in 2026, she wasn't sure what she would encounter. A student at Central Washington University, she felt certain that getting together with other career-minded students would be great, but what more would she find? Here is her report:
"Attending the HR Leaders of Tomorrow (HRLT) conference at CWU in April 2026 was a great experience. We had the opportunity to listen to guest speakers from different areas of human resources and tour various organizations. I attended a tour of Red's Fly Shop, where I learned about the responsibilities of the person overseeing both human resource management and accounting. It was interesting to see how the organization operates and learn more about what her role involves.
Another highlight was connecting with other HR students and professionals. I was able to ask questions and hear about their experiences in the field. Overall, the conference showed me how supportive the human resources community is. Everyone was willing to share their knowledge and help others who are interested in entering the field. It made me even more excited to continue learning about HR and pursue a career in human resource management."
Advising others who want to learn, network, and gather career tips, Isabella suggests marking your calendar for the 2027 HRLT, to be held at Eastern Washington University April 23-24, 2027. Better yet, talk with friends and register to share the experience!
More details will be posted on the nhrma.net site and calendar. And check with your campus Faculty Advisor if you have a SHRM Student Chapter available to you.
